Dr. Berry Fairchild

Dr. Berry Fairchild is a dedicated plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a lifelong passion for the human body and healing. Growing up as the daughter of an artist and surgical trainee, Dr. Fairchild is a product of five grade schools in different states. These frequent relocations helped her integrate into diverse situations and hone her communication skills, cultivating a resilience she carries into her professional life today. Her medical journey began in the ICU as a nurse where she took pride in meticulously managing patients which naturally progressed into her pursuit of attending medical school and completing surgical training. After attending medical school at the medical College of Wisconsin and graduating with honors, she completed her general surgery residency at the University of Texas health science Center in Houston, one of the busiest level-one trauma centers in the country. During her training, she was drawn to intricate operations, demanding technical precision, ultimately leading her to specialize in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Her research endeavors include work on breast implant associated, anaplastic large cell lymphoma at MD Anderson cancer center and cover topics such as autologous breast, reconstruction, and free flap reconstruction of the spine. Dr. Fairchild has presented her findings at national meetings, and is dedicated to advancements in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery and wellness as a whole. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Fairchild balances her career with family life. She recently celebrated her 13th wedding anniversary with her husband Joe, a neurosurgeon whom she met in surgical training and in January 2022 they welcomed their beloved daughter, PJ. They are now a family of five, including their two dogs; Huckleberry and Izzy. Balancing motherhood with surgical training has brought about new personal and professional challenges for Dr. Fairchild. Her passion for work is to be exceeded only by her passion as a mother. She believes the experience has and will continue to make her a better physician.
